Posting a little later than usual.  I doubt I screwed up anyone’s reading schedules (although I do go well with the morning crap, I think :-P ), but I apologize if I did.  I delayed posting by a few hours only because I didn’t want to jinx myself in regards to one particular goal…

HUNDRED PUSHUPS / TWO HUNDRED SITUPS / TWO HUNDRED SQUATS

…and this was that goal.  I actually completed it (this time!).  WooT!

I totally completed Week 1 of The One Hundred Pushups Challenge, Week 1 of The Two Hundred Situps Challenge, and Week 3 of The Two Hundred Squats Challenge.  I was in Week 3 of 200squats because my initial test placed me there, so WooT to lower body strength.

For those of you who paid attention, this was my second attempt this month, so I started at the beginning.  The Pushups were alot easier this time around, which kind of rocks.  Day 3 of the squats was a bitch, so I considering repeating the week, but the man behind the challenges, Steve Speirs, said I should be okay to move on to Week 4.  Since he created them, I guess he’d know best, eh?

I’m still trying to think of a good way to log these challenges for the updates post.  Since the 5th rep for each day is supposed to be a max rep, maybe just post that number, I don’t know.  Ugh.  I’m open to suggestions though, it just seems weird to merely sum it up in paragraph form.

Steve is also asking we post something that noone knows about us, so here goes:   My very first job was playing the mall Easter Bunny.  My mom’s friend was in charge of the display for Exton Square Mall outside of Philadelphia and I was conned into spending a couple weekends up there and playing the part.  I won’t lie…it SUCKED, but I paid well for a 15 year old ($8 bucks an hour…YES!).  The first year (yes, I did this for several years after) was the easiest though, because the mall was undergoing renovations so we were in a storefront, as opposed to the following years, when I was in a major walkway, under HUGE skylights.  The obnoxious kids were tolerable to an extent, but in the hot suit, under a frickin’ SKYLIGHT was torture.  I did it though, but apparently I wasn’t the best bunny.  The only suit they had had an apron, which means I was supposedly a girl bunny, but I kept sitting on the chair slouched down with my legs open.  Skanky bunny :)

    HABIT.A.WEEK CHALLENGE

Lyn from Escape from Obesity is hosting a Habit.A.Week Challenge. The goal is easy enough, to make a small change each work in order to live a healthier lifestyle.  The “habit” this week is Self Love.

I’m working on this, but it’s getting easier.  I’m looking at myself in the mirror in the mornings and I’m actually kind of seeing a difference in the way I look.  I like it.  I don’t want to go into more depth only because I was actually going to devote a blog post to this idea next week (assuming I have another good weigh in to keep the mojo going).  Lyn keeps beating me to the punch with this stuff!!!

And I do believe that is all I have today.  Nothing too exciting going down this weekend, for me anyway.  How are you all doing with your goals?

    Have a great day. TGIF!

Btw…I had mistakenly labeled last weeks challenge update as #8, when it was actually #7.  I’m a dumbass when it comes to numbering things, but none of you caught it (or at least didn’t say anything) either, so HA!!!

    Feb 242010

    I wear alot of khakis.

I started out just wearing them for work, and eventually it just got to the point where they became my casual wear too.  I wear jeans too, but the times I wear them are few and far between when compared to the times I just wear khakis.

With that said, I’ve been wearing 38w khaki pants since I started this journey at 265 pounds.  I’m down 34.2 pounds, and I’ve still been wearing 38w’s.

    I need new pants.

The 38w’s have become super baggy and loose, which is awesome, but I fear that at any moment they could fall down.  If I have anything in my pockets, then the chances of them falling down increase.  Like I said, it’s awesome, but I’m at work, so it’s probably not appropriate.  I could wear a belt, but I’m usually absentminded enough in the mornings to forget to put one on, and super baggy pants still don’t look very professional.  I’m not exactly working at a Fortune 500 company, but come on now…

I have a shit load of clothes though, mostly shirts, but plenty of pants as well.  I have an entire closet full of stuff that was too small for me, but I am now slowly starting to fit into.  Surely I have smaller pants, right?

I do.  I have 34w’s.  I can wear them, but only if I don’t breathe, or try to sit down.  So I should be able to fit well into 36w’s…but I apparently don’t have any…?

Did I skip over buying 36w’s completely?  Did I lose them in a move?  I don’t specifically remember having any, but come on, I had to have had them.  Right?

    Ugh…I have no pants…

    :(

I think there may be something to this whole diet thing after all…

    Progress Report: Week 20
    Weight:  230.8 lbs
    BMI: 33.6
Weight loss so far:  6.6 lbs lost since last week,  34.2 lbs lost total

As much as I would have LOVED to have been able to get this into the 220s…I AM NOT going to complain :)

6.6 pounds?!?!?! I didn’t even lose that much in the first week!  WooT!

What did I do differently?  I actually watched what I ate!  And I didn’t half ass it either.  I may have 9/10ths assed it, but there was definitely more than 50% ass involved in what I did this week!  I counted my calories, I avoided the bad shit, and I done did good.

Steve at Nerdfitness has said this repeatedly on his site:

“If you exercise 10 hours a week…you still have 158 hours to screw things up.”

I really do think I was committing a big ol’ FAIL before.  I was working out like whoa, but I wasn’t watching my food choices.  And when I was trying to watch my food choices, I usually gave up too easily, I used a workout to justify a bad meal choice, or I simple allowed one little thing to knock me off course.  That isn’t to say it couldn’t easily happen again, but now I am more aware of the problem, and if I want to keep moving in the right direction I’ll have to keep this issue in check.

Anywho, I am so very very close to the 220s, which means I’m very close to the 210s, which means I’m close to the 200s. WooHoo!  I’m also .8 pounds away from my Perfect 10 goal of losing 15 pounds for the challenge.  And I am 15.8 pounds away from my goal for the Fitbloggin Conference.  Oh, this might be a good time to mention that I’ve set a goal weight for Fitbloggin, d’oh!  I’d love to go to the conference knowing that I’ve lost 50 pounds in this journey :)

Anywho, that’s all I got at the moment. Hope you have a great day!
